what are some really good acne supplements?
Does anyone know of any acne supplements I can get from the store or maybe online thats a reasonable price that helps with acne? Preferably people who have used a certain kind and know for a fact because it worked for them?

Drae answers:
Acne Rid or remove
STOP popping the spots, also known as pimples and zits. This may make the pimple look worse due to inflammation and irritation. Popping a zit can spread infection under the skin and produce even more pimples than before. If you do pop a spot then immediately clean it with soap and water or rubbing alcohol in order to prevent infection. If a pimple erupts in a particularly bothersome place, learn how to target a single pimple. And if you’re determined to pop, learn how to pop a pimple safely and properly. If you do pop a pimple and you want to avoid anything resembling Western medicine, one thing to try is put a mixture of honey and ground cinnamon on the spot. Put a band-aid on it also. You may also want to stay away from stress.
Remove any make-up you have on. Wearing make-up can clog pores, making them dirty and causing pimples. Also try to wear oil-free makeup (if you have oily skin) or a medicated makeup.
Use a mild soap for sensitive skin but it doesn’t matter exactly what type of soap you use. It can be designed for acne-prone skin or not, but you will want to treat your skin gently. Harsh antibacterial soap may actually make your acne worse by irritating skin.
Remove dead skin cells regularly by exfoliating. Use a gentle scrub with natural defoliants like ground walnut shells, or use an over-the-counter chemical defoliant like salicylic acid or glycolic acid. Adding ground walnut shell to a thick moisturizer like cocoa butter can be effective too. Take caution, because over-exfoliating can actually increase the likelihood of acne by irritating the skin. Pat dry, rather than rubbing, since rubbing can cause irritation to the fresh skin you’ve just revealed.
Use a good toner. Spray onto face or wipe on with a cotton ball and wipe off with a clean, dry cotton ball. This gets rid of excess cleanser and tightens pores. Good, inexpensive choices include plain witch hazel for normal to dry skin, lemon juice, or 3% hydrogen peroxide for oily skin. 70% ethyl rubbing alcohol can also be used for severe oiliness, but it can really dry out your skin and irritate it more. Some toners are medicated, and this stage is the best for using a medicated product if you’re only going to use one medication.

What are the best supplements for acne prone skin?
I have sensitive/oily/ acne prone skin. Recently Ive been breaking out more than usual, I think it might be from either my change of diet which is I don’t eat meat or chicken, only fish/seafood and also I stop using birth control pills. I definitely think that my skin problem might have do with either or both things. I been using all natural facial products containing tea tree oil and witch hazel. I want to start taking supplements that will also help clear my breakouts. Any suggestions from experience.
Thanks in advance!

Has anyone ever taken Turmeric supplements for Acne?
I read an article that taking turmeric supplements would help clear up acne completely. I also read a blog with someone saying that they took it for a few months and their acne cleared up completely after suffering with for several years. I have mild to moderate acne, but I want something to help get rid of it completely. Please only answer if you have personally used it or know someone who has.

Drae answers:
I actually put cosmetic turmeric on my skin to clear up acne. Why use pills instead of getting the direct benefit?
It makes your skin glow, clears up acne and inflammation, removes light facial hair, and is an all-natural face mask. Make sure you get facial turmeric instead of cooking turmeric if you want to buy it; you don’t want your face to smell like curry.
I don’t have facial hair or any acne to begin with, but turmeric gave my skin an extra golden-ish sheen.
Good luck! Hope this helped.

Will taking Vitamin C and Zinc supplements help acne?
My acne isn’t servere. I have quite a few pimples around my chin area and on my forehead. They are usually very red and inflamed. I have been taking Vitamin C for a couple of weeks now and I have noticed an improvement in my skin. I heard Zinc can be beneficial also and result in healthier, acne free skin.
Will taking both these supplements help? What are the advantages and disadvantages?
Thanks.

Drae answers:
Advantages – apparently vitamin C might be helping your skin condition. Zinc is listed in helping skin problems
Disadvantages – Both have serious side effects if used in high doses or for too long. Keep the C down to 1000 mg a day and the zinc at 15 mg per day. Use both for no more than a couple of weeks.

Does taking Vitamin E supplements make acne worse ?
I took pure E supplements for a month or so and couldn’t figure out why my acne was so bad. As soon as I stopped so did it. More recently, I have been taking a multivitamin and have had similar problems to a lesser degree. I’m pretty sure for me there is a link, however it appears there is no research that validates this. Anyone else noticed a similar link?

Drae answers:
I have never heard that Vitamin E supplements or any other vitamins contribute to acne. There is some research that suggests the hormones found in dairy products and a western diet in general may be a factor, but there are many others. Hormones, heredity, greasy cosmetics, stress, humid polluted climates, irritation to the skin, chafing, and squeezing pimples all can contribute to acne.
